When I heard about a park near the Pensacola airport where kids can watch planes land and take off, I knew I had to visit. Aviation Discovery Park is the name, and it’s perfect for little aviators!

Aviation Discovery Park Location
Aviation Park is located next to the Pensacola International Airport. The address is 4200 Jerry L. Maygarden Rd, Pensacola, FL 32504.

Aviation Discovery Park Features
Aviation Discovery Park is open daily from 6 am to 8 pm, and admission is free. The park features a picnic area with tables and benches. There are lots of benches facing the runway so that kids and parents can watch the planes take off and land.

The park also has an “air traffic control tower” with speakers that broadcast the real air traffic control tower’s audio so that kids can listen to the control tower and pilots talk to each other.
There are also little planes so little aviators can pretend to fly.

What to Bring To Aviation Discovery Park
The number one thing to bring to the Aviation Discovery Park is your imagination. I would also bring some sunscreen and, of course, a water bottle, as there is very little shade at the park.
Another thing I would suggest, if you have them, is a pair of binoculars to make it a little easier to see the planes.
You can also bring a picnic lunch to enjoy while watching the planes take off and land.
We love visiting this little park. Even my 17-year-old thought it was cool and fun. You know how hard it is to impress a 17-year-old. If you have a little aviator in your house, you have to visit the Aviation Discovery Park.
